Chateau de Perreux is perfectly situated in the heart of the Loire Valley only 2 kilometres from Amboise, site of the royal Chateau D’Amboise and Leonardo Da Vinci’s last home Chateau Clos de Luce. All the principal Chateaux of the Loire are within easy driving distance, including; Chateau de Villandry, Cheverny, Chenonceau, Chambord, Usse, Azay-le-Rideau, Villandry, Langeais as well as many others. Vouvray, one of the most famous Loire Valley wine growing regions, is within 15 minutes drive, and is home to numerous wine producers that offer wine tasting as well as retailing directly to the public.
Chateau de Perreux is an exceptional example of a Loire Valley Castle built in the troglodyte fashion which has a classical elegant beauty that offers a special experience to all who stay here. Originally constructed against the limestone rock face in 1701 and lovingly restored by a collaborator of Gustav Eiffel in 1854, Chateau de Perreux is surrounded by 15 acres of beautiful parkland. Within the grounds are a huge greenhouse, an Olympic sized swimming pool and an island surrounded by the river Cisse, a tributary of the Loire, .
Chateau de Perreux is also the only Castle in the Loire Valley with a historically significant, listed Aquarium which is now used for fantastic cocktail parties and dinners. It adds a magical quality to an already spectacular estate.
Surrounded by 18th and 19th c French paintings and antiques, the Grand Salon is the perfect place to host an exclusive evening or just sip a Champagne Aperitif before dinner. The regal and authentic 18th century architectural aspects, feature a wonderful large marble fireplace, extraodinary ceiling with corinthian columns as well as superb floor to ceiling French doors which open directly onto the lawn with views of the fountain. During the Christmas and New Year period relaxing in front of the open fireplace is a truly memorable experience for guests who would like to enjoy a quiet, superior festive break.
Decorated in the Napoleonic style, the Salon Rouge is a luxurious room in which to unwind in front of our wide screen television, and surround sound DVD. It provides a superb blend of relaxation and grandeur for the discerning guest looking to savour an evening in comfortable, sophisticated surroundings.

With its beautiful, romantic interior, stunning art collection, breathtaking lawns, outstanding food and attentive staff, Chateau de Perreux provides the ultimate setting for an unforgettable wedding or private celebration. Enjoy a gourmet meal by candle-light in our impressive ‘Salle a Manger’. Our French chef de cuisine will prepare a four-course menu made from only the very best local produce accompanied by a selection of fine wines from our cellar. Menus range from €60-€80. However, if you would like us to organise dinner for you in one of the excellent restaurants in the area, we would be delighted to assist with reservations.
Chateau de Perreux offers a traditional French breakfast of croissants and patisseries freshly baked each morning from our local Boulangerie and included in the room rate. The Chateau offers a selection of home-made jams to accompany your croissant, as well as, freshly squeezed juices, fruit yoghurts, coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
Our Chef can prepare a delicious picnic basket of cold delicacies and drinks which can be taken to our swimming pool or with you in the car to enjoy while you travel around the Loire Valley on a hot summer’s day.
